Bu yıl 96. kez sahipleriyle buluşacak olan Akademi Ödülleri'nin tüm adayları, oyuncular Zazie Beetz ve Jack Quaid’in sunumuyla açıklandı. Kazananlar, 10 Mart'ta (Türkiye saatiyle 11 Mart sabahı), her zamanki gibi Los Angeles Dolby Tiyatrosu'nda düzenlenecek olan ödül töreninde belli olacak. Oscar Ödüllerini bu yıl dördüncü kez komedyen Jimmy Kimmel sunacak.

Bu yılın Oscar adayları arasında Christopher Nolan imzalı "Oppenheimer" toplam 13 kategoride aday gösterilerek başı çekiyor. Onu 11 dalda aday olan Yorgos Lanthimos imzalı "Poor Things", 10 kategoride aday gösterilen Martin Scorsese imzalı "Killers of the Flower Moon" takip ediyor.

Yılın öne çıkan filmlerinden bir diğeri olan "Barbie" 8 kategoride aday gösterilirken, Bradley Cooper'a 10. Oscar adaylığını getiren "Maestro" toplam 7 kategoride aday gösterildi.
